Upgrade 1.1 > 1.6 , db Patched can't login w nonempty pass

Hi,

we upgraded from 1.1 to 1.6 and patched the mysql database with patches from 1.4 and 1.6 which went flawless. After the Upgrade theres no way to login. I can see failed login counter rise in the db, I reset the md5 pass in the db - nothing works.

However when I create a new db, all is good. ?? I can login Admin/zabbix.

For now we went back to 1.1, restored our unpatched db, guess what: can't login as Admin either (theres only Admin and guest).

How can I debug this?

ok,wrong, login into the old zabix 1.1 with old db still works, only using 1.6 with patched doesnt let us login

You may want to read release notes for 1.6. All empty passwords were replaced by 'zabbix'. So, the default password is 'zabbix' in 1.6.x.

well the pass was NOT empty and "zabbix" didnt work either...

Hi Alexei,
should I mention to update the 1.6 manual? There it still says: "When installed use user name "Admin" with no password to connect as ZABBIX superuser". That would be helpful even for long time zabbix users who setup a new server and doesn´t read that far through the documentation .
