Send list of active checks failed host not found

Send list of active checks to [192.168.21.94] failed: host [zabbix1.domain.com] not found

anybody know where or why these errors are ocurring.

BTW: I do have a valid hostname that resolves there for zabbix1.domain.com setup in my dns servers.

It looks very much like Zabbix server knows nothing about a host having this NAME (not DNS name!). Check host name.

          All very confusing, sometimes.

As far as i understand this problem is related to different names in GUI and Zabbix_agend.conf.

I have only one question is this case sensetive?

If GUI has entry: Zabbix Server
            and
            Zabbix_agend.conf: Zabbix server

            will it cause same issue?

My experience is - yes. That is a mis-match. Zabbix is case sensitive with host names in the GUI when you are using active items. Case doesn't matter if you are using passive items.

We use an install batch file for our Windows hosts that grabs the hostname off the machine and inserts it into the "Hostname=" field of the zabbix_agentd.conf, so we use case logic in the bat to make the hostname lower case, regardless of how it was entered on the host server. For some reason, our Win admins liked to use all upper case or a mix-n-match when they created the server builds.

If you make any changes in your zabbix_agentd.conf file, remember to restart the Zabbix agent service. If the change is made only in the Zabbix GUI, no agent restart is required.
