    [1.6.2] Availability Bug?

    Hello,

in Configuration -> Hosts I added a lot of Switches with HP_ProCurve Template.
I also added our Spare switches which are not running.
But: In the Row "Availability" they are "Available" - but they are offline and the IP is dead and unused.
    Why?

How is this row created? By which Item/Trigger? Ping check? Even if I disconnect a running Switch the Status will always show "Available".

In the Screenshow 004 is Offline, I got the notification - but it stays at "Available".

This question has come up quite a few times. I have honestly forgotten how Availability works, and I know I've read it about 100 times. I think there might be some info in the wiki and I know there is some info in the forums.

    Its really not important though

I ignore that column. On my screen (60 hosts in this group), most say Unknown, 3 say available, and two saw Not Available.

...Yet all the hosts are available in your definition of the word.

After looking at the values, they do make some sense, but unless you're in tune with exactly how zabbix works or read the docs between the lines, they won't.

I would ignore them. Available in that column doesn't have the standard definition.

Hmm, but it worked with 1.6.1 ... thats why I'm wondering.
Anyway, true, it's not important for Actions.

I wasn't aware that it was suppose to work as we would think. Maybe I'm mistaken. I'm still running v1.5.x because of all the bugs reported in the forums. Mine has been stable and I'd like to keep it that way

....I just checked a 1.6.2 installation, a server that is available says "Not Available"

Hmm, so maybe it is a Trigger somewhere ... I disabled all unused Triggers to save MySQL space (15GB for only ~60 Hosts currently!) and CPU load, maybe that's the issue?
But which trigger is the one for this status?

          Working...
