Recently a new version of curl has been released (my guess would be couple of weeks ago). Currently i have CURL-7.18.0 installed with which i am experiencing this issue.
Affected distro's
At lease Ubuntu (8.04tls), probably debian also. Dont know about RHEL/CENTOS/SUSE.
Symptoms:
Webchecks stop working after restarting zabbix.
Cause:
If you are using a custom build of zabbix (aka non-packaged), watch out for updated CURL versions.
Although library dependencies will remain correct, this new version of CURL can break webchecks in 1.6.
You will need to recompile zabbix using this new CURL version in order to fix this.
