Template Linkage broken on 1.6.1

Installed Zabbix 1.6.1 on Ubuntu 8.04.02. I was able to link the Linux_template to my initial first two hosts I setup, but now, when I try to link any template to any host (new or existing), via "Configuration|Hosts|Hosts dropdown" the popup says "No templates defined" when I click add.

I am able to link template via the "Configuration|Hosts|Template linkage" dropdown however. I haven't changed anything in apache or in any php.ini or in anything on the mysql server.
