    Hi,

I am using Zabbix 1.6.4 installed on CentOS 5 x64.

I have configured action to send email to an user group. The action is created under trigger without any condition. However i do not receive any email. Check on Monitoring -> Events, shows that all action in progress. I have check smtp log file and found no activity.

the user is already "Zabbis Super Admin". I have just changed all access from read-only to read-write for one of group the user is in. Still doesn't receive any email, status is stilll "in progress"

        ok, i found the problem

the column mediatypeid in table media is not linked to correct id in table media_type. And also the deleted media type still exist in database but not in GUI

I'm having this problem as well, but I've checked the database and the mediatypeid is correct. My user is a Zabbix Super Admin so it should work. But all of my Alerts are stuck at "In Progress". Any ideas?

New installation or upgrade of Zabbix?
The status of the alert changes to NO? Maybe it canot contact the smtp server....
If it is an upgrade you have to initiate new the binaries of zabbix. See zabbix_server log file.

            Sorry my English
            Regards

No its a new installation of zabbix - 1.6.4. running in Ubuntu 8.04 I've confirmed the binaries are the correct version. In the Events the section called "Action" the alert says "In Progress" and never changes. I've checked the email settings and everything is fine. The email server log does not show any connection coming from the zabbix server. It seems the alerts are stuck in zabbix itself. I've looked through the zabbix log, but haven't found much. I am not sure what I should be looking for.

This has got to be a problem of zabbix - I wrote a shell script to send email and works fine from the command line. I have zabbix run the script to send an email and I get the same result - "In Progress". Anybody got an idea what is wrong?

I had a similar issue, but I didn't check to see whether the status was "in progress" or not.

When I realized that I wasn't getting any alerts, I set up a basic action for myself, and that seemed to open up the floodgates.

Although I personally think by default, the Zabbix Super Admin should receive any alert from any host as long as it is withn the severity that is enabled on his media selection.

Try looking through this thread and check some of the basic settings discussed in there -

This is what I have for the Zabbix Event:
It bugs me that it shows up "In Progress" and I don't see anything in the email logs, so I think its not even trying to connect the mail server.

The mail server in question is just a simple Postfix and it works great from the command line of the zabbix server.

Any chance you have the luxury of being able to re-start your Zabbix server, Zabbix agent and your mail server?

                          I'd try that.

Then I am out of ideas... except to maybe try a different e-mail address. My e-mails are sent within the same domain as my Zabbix server and I have not set up any e-mail programs, except what gets installed with Ubuntu as a default.
