cisco switch monitoring

Hi all,

have a zabbix 1.6.4 system on debian running. Host monitoring works fine. But if i configure a switch host with the template "Template_Cisco_2960" i got an timeout

Timeout while connecting to [192.168.110.10:161]

Which steps have to be done on the Cisco 2960G device for monitoring? Thanks for help.

In your cisco switch you would need something like the following:

snmp-server community public ro
snmp-server host <ip of Zabbix_server> version 2c public udp-port 162
snmp-server enable traps

Sorry, I'm at home this week and trying to do this from memory. I'm pretty sure that the above is correct, but you may need to change 'public' to your own community name.
