Child Nodes Not Showing in DM

Hi,

I am having zabbix 1.6.4 and testing distributed zabbix setup.

i have Node1 (Master) zabbbix 1.6.4
Node 2 (Child1) zabbbix 1.6.4
Node 3 (Child2) zabbbix 1.6.4
Node 4 (Child3) zabbbix 1.6.4

My system is working perfectly with i have Node1 (Master) zabbbix 1.6.4 and
Node 2 (Child1) zabbbix 1.6.4. but when i tried adding the Node 3 (Child2) zabbbix 1.6.4 the data was not visible on the portal of the central server but the logs show that the data is being trasnered.

i have changed the front end of my central node to nightly builds ZBX pre1.6.5 and it worked.

Now today when i tried adding the Node 4 (Child3) zabbbix 1.6.4 i can see the Data and triggers of Node 4 (Child3) zabbbix 1.6.4 from centreal node but the Dash Bord of the central node does'nt List the
Node 4 (Child2) zabbbix 1.6.4 in "system status" and "last 20 issues"

Hi,

There was Difference in OS DATE/TIME of the Child and the Master hence it took some time to reflect. After changing setting the Correct DATE/TIME it was showing in the Dashboard.


But still my dropdown Option which allow access to the child from master doesn't list my new child.

Any suggestion on this ?

We have a similar issue here. We use 1.6.5 on central node.
Dashboard shows problems of all parent childs. But we cannot select all child nodes in drop down box. Only the next child node in database is shown, which is in same subnet as master.

We found that the nodes will be removed by method get_tree_by_parentid() in method get_viewed_nodes() in file hosts.inc.php

We have now commented out the line:
$available_nodes = get_tree_by_parentid($ZBX_LOCALNODEID,$available_n odes,'masterid');

now all nodes are visible again.

I had the same problem and commenting out that line worked to show the child nodes in the dropdown.

Does commenting this line effect anything else?
Did you only comment it on the master?
Is anyone succesfully using DM with more than one child without commenting this line?

I do.
I've tested this function several times on different setups, and problem haven't been revealed. I'm still guessing what could cause such behavior?

We commented the call to the PHP funtion and didn't experience
any problems.
Is this code really required ?
Where is the tree of nodes used in the frontend ?

We "fixed" it by replacing the call by reference by a call by value ($tree).
