Receive "unable to find mysql.h" when I run...

    ./configure --with-mysql --with-net-snmp

I am running Mandrake 10.1, and tryng to install zabbix with the instructions from linux-tip.net. I get the error (in the subject line) after apache, php, and mysql is installed. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Ethan

i had this one when i installing zabbix for the first time.
you've to search in your mandrake mysql packages which one is including the header file you missed.
    hope that's help.

ok i'll try to explain in better way

first, which mysql packages had you installed on your server ?
then, if you have this error that's because you missed the header file named "mysql.h".
this file is in a mysql package, but i don't remember which one. something like mysql-client, i guess.
to find it, you've to search which one is including it.

i don't know if mandrake have something like the debian packages system, if not good luck

        hope that's help

I was able to get past the mysql issue. I now have an issue where I get the following error:

configure: error: Invalid NET-SNMP directory - unable to find net-snmp-includes.h

          When I try to install " libnet-snmp5-devel-5.1.2-6mdk.i586" I get:

Some package requested cannot be installed: libnet-snmp5-devel-5.1.2-6mdk.i586 (due to unsatisfied tcp_wrappers-devel) do you agree ?

Any thoughts? I appreciate you patience and assistance.

          Thanks Ethan

Please note, I am not a Fedora user, but I suspect, based on RHEL 4, that you will need to install mysql-devel to get the correct header files in place.
