    Multiple actions with same conditions?

I have created 2 Actions, both actions have the same conditions. One actions sends to one group, the other action send to a single user.

Only the first action is used even though the second one has the same conditions. Is this by design? Does it meet only 1 actions conditions and then stop processing additional actions?

    Why multiple actions?

Why not make the same action respond at different times and/or in different steps?

You can make step 0 send to your group with the "default" message and make step 1 send the same "default" message or even a different custom one to a single user and only have 1 second of time in between them.

I don't understand the need for multiple actions. Do you need to disable one or the other from time to time?

Escalations are your friend. They will help you do what it appears you are trying to do with only 1 action.

Well, what I was actually doing was creating another action that was more specific than the first, the more specific one catches stuff and sends messages to other groups. Then there is a general one that is more broad and sends messages to a group to receive everything.

So the more specific one which was supposed to catch a test trigger and be caught by the general and more specific was only being sent to the general one. Then for testing, I removed the conditions that made it specific, to make it just like the general one and it still was not working.

However, upon further checking it looks like the new group I made has default permissions to DENY everything and this is most likely why the action is not sending to this group.

I am going through the permissions and will test again.

          Ah...

So they don't have exactly the same conditions. My solution was based on incomplete information, then.

I understand. Only under testing they were the same.

This was a permission issue. My previous users were Zabbix Super Admin and the new one I made was a Zabbix User. I overlooked that the default permissions for the User is to deny where the Super Admin is to allow.

            Thanks for the replies!
