status key not showing / status trigger shows as gray?

After changing some templates around that a couple hosts were linked to, these hosts no longer show the status item and the trigger for checking the status (whether 0 or 2) is not showing.

The item does not show as unsupported and was working before changing the templates around. But I did not edit the status item and only edited the status trigger name.

Attached is a screen shot of what I mean (Monitoring of {HOSTNAME} is the Trigger for the status key). I know the status is good because all the other items seem to be monitored fine.

    Any ideas?

I'm going to bump this as I still have this issue with some agents on 1.8.2. Host is running 1.8.2 and agents are 1.8.2. A couple of the agents return everything except the status item.

I am comparing between a host that lists the latest value fine and a host that does not and I cannot find a difference... Both hosts are Windows 2003 Standard, with all Windows updates as of today. Both have firewalls enabled and configured to allow zabbix_agentd.exe and zabbix_sender.exe (to send some data from an external script that runs).

I have also enabled the agent debug log and there is nothing mentioned for status (search text doesn't find the word status anywhere). I see all other normal keys listed. But no status.

It seems like the Zabbix Server is never even asking for the status key. Any ideas?

        Agent.Ping...

        Hi,

I too had this problem, I changed the agent.ping item from active to passive and status came back online.
