Hi all!

we use UserParameter "prtdiag" to get "prtdiag" from solaris. We have included the UserParameter within the Solaris-Template. Works fine but:

On a few machines we have included the command later so that the UserParameter was not filled for a few days. Now we get no data. The Check is enabled and the shell script "prtdiag" works.

Restart of zabbix_agent and/or server shows no reactions. Any suggestions ?
(Looks for me as if zabbix has internally disabled that check.)

Seems to be a timeout - How long can a script run on the zabbix_agentd ?

There's a Timeout parameter in zabbix_agentd.conf. There's also a server side Timeout parameter (5sec by default).

And by the way if an item takes too long you should set it to "active checks" (ie: zabbix_agentd runs the script and then connects to zabbix_server to report the value).

With passive checks zabbix_server will waste a "slot" waiting for zabbix_agentd to answer. That can hinder polling performance quite badly.
