Checking websites - not only apache?

Hello,

I have installed zabbix 1.6.5 and it is working fine.
Now I am trying to configure Zabbix in that way that it should not only checks apache port 80. I want that Zabbix checks also the websites because its might be possible that apache working fine but the website e.g. www.abc.com/def is not reachable.

So is that possible to check not only apache but also websites?

Use zabbix_server's Web monitoring feature ?
zabbix_server uses libcurl (if libcurl support was compiled) to run web scenarios. You can provide multiple steps with timeouts, regexp to check that specific strings are present in pages, and expected HTTP return code.
