Not all host-groups shown in overview page

I installed Zabbix 1.6.5 , created a new hosts-group via Configuration -- Hosts choose dropdown menu Host-group ,and clicked the button for Create group.

It does show up in the configuration page but not in the Monitoring , overview page , in het dropdown menu for the groups , that list only shows all , and linux servers.

How can i add the new group to the overview page ?

Add host with monitoring items to that group, or what is the point to show it?

There are two hosts in that group I defined and I created a template with a single monitoring item in it ,
even if I add the default windows template to it , the drop down box in the overview ( and also , i just foud out ,latest data en triggers view) only show the all , linux-servers and zabbix-server host groups

This is a new install , is rerunning the sql scripts from installation,perhaps the only way to clean out the database and recreate all standard zabbix items ?

Or am I missing some default permissions on the host group I created as Zabbix super admin

Host status must be monitored.. is data coming from that host?

I believe you need a trigger for that template before it shows up in the system status. If you notice, that pane has a table where the columns are severity level. You can only set the severity of an issue via a trigger.

If data is not coming from a host ( let say misconfigured item in my template ) will that result in not seeing a host group in the monitoring - overview dropdown menu ?

1. No it should be shown, it won't be shown if no items is active or host is not monitored.

2. However in overview page, as chivo mentioned, does any host in that group have triggers?

Due to other issues i reinstalled everything , and now its working , thanx for your replies !
