    Problem with Proxy

    Hi All,

I wonder if anyone could shed some light onto this problem I have with Zabbix Proxy (1.6.5) running on a Solaris 10 (SPARC) server?

Basically, I've compiled and installed the zabbix_proxy binary to run on a server that already had the zabbix agent on it (and running fine). I would like to monitor other servers via the proxy as we are testing in a distributed environment and thought the server --> proxy --> agents approach would suit us. The problem is, no matter what I do, the proxy will not communicate with the zabbix server (always get connection refused). The agent running on the same server is still running and communicating fine.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Mark.

Another question I have (forgive me if its a stupid question!) but all config files for zabbix mention unique host names. If I'm running an agent and a proxy on the same server, are the hostname entries in the .conf files the same are do they have to be different?

    i.e physical host is hostA
    zabbix agent is hostA
    zabbix proxy is hostA

or does it need to be
    zabbix agent is hostB
    zabbix proxy is hostC ?

    Cheers,
