Lock failed [Identifier removed]

After months of running without issues, today I found zabbix_server had stopped working with thousands of entries like this in the zabbix_server.log:

/usr/local/sbin/zabbix_server [21453]: Lock failed [Identifier removed]
/usr/local/sbin/zabbix_server [21453]: Unlock failed [Identifier removed]


Anyone know what might've caused this? Restarting the daemon seems to have corrected the issue for now.

i didn't see two crucial details - zabbix version and database used...

I upgraded to 1.8 today and I'm seeing tons of these scrolling in my zabbix_proxy.log as well.

hmm. no idea, but if you see the same message with 1.8, i'd say bugreport on the tracker would be welcome

After I restarted zabbix_proxy I noticed the errors went away and I haven't seen them since. Weird I guess.

My configuration:

Zabbix: 1.8
MySQL: mysql Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.67, for debian-linux-gnu (i486) using readline 5.2

I upgrade to Zabbix 1.8 yesterday, all seems to be good but today, with no apparent reason, my zabbix server stop to collect data but he was still running...

I look the zabbix_server.log and i find the same error message

I restart the zabbix server deamon and for the moment it solve the problem.
