    vfs checks with 1.1alpha12

    Hi,

Looking at the 1.1 documentation, there are many checks that start with vfs. Are these supposed to work in 1.1alpha12?

I have tried to search for this in the forums but unfortunately, vfs is too small of a word and the few others that I tried didn't return any results.

    Thanks!

    Greetings,

Nope, these are not part of the alpha12 build, instead these are going to be in the beta1 build. Alexei has stated that he will get beta1 out as soon as he can, but no firm date just yet.

Ok, thanks for the fast reply. I'm currently at the test phase of a Zabbix deployment, and having quite a few issues with Alpha12 (moreso than when I had very lightly tested alpha11), which I'm sure will most likely be fixed in beta1.

Since we already have a monitoring solution in place (that needs improvement, but works), this is giving me the dilemma between waiting for beta1 or start with 1.0 and have to redo a lot of it with all the changes in the beta... heh.

I am in somewhat of a similar boat. I have a good sized data center, using Zabbix, and I have been manually upgrading it as I go along... Thank god for cfengine... There are a lot of changes coming in beta1 that I really need, but, I think the upgrade is going to be extremely painful for me, specifically things like the vfs changes.

I would say, if you have a couple of people working with you that are decent at SQL, then deploy 1.1alpha11, and then wait for beta1 to be released. If, like me, you are the entire SysAdmin group, I would recommend holding out for beta1 before you deploy.

Please note, that you can start building your database now, with the understanding that these changes are coming, just don't turn it on until beta1 comes out.

Please, be aware that 1.1beta1 agents are BACKWARD COMPATIBLE, i.e. old item keys are still supported!
