Zabbix Version 1.1beta1: Use templates of this host and template-host linkage failes

I just compiled a fresh install of Zabbix 1.1beta1 on a Fedora FC4 system and the "Use templates of this host" and "template-host linkage" fails. I select a template from the drop down list and then click update and nothing happens. Also, the "template-host linkage seems to not work still" I had to roll back to Zabbix 1.1Alpha 12. Has anyone had the same experience on this version?

Besides that, things are looking good on the 1.1beta1 version release. Good job Alexei .

Yes, I am currently having the same issue right now. Some of the changes definately look interesting, and props for the host profiles! :-) The linkage of hosts and templates is definately an added plus too Alexei. Props on that!

I'll still define my templates, but will need them to be imported to test more. I'll try to fiddle with the database to get it to work manually in the meantime. Have not checked code nor DB layout yet, but should not be a big thing.

Hehehe. It can be a bit painful.

As a work around, until Alexei get's this fixed, you can use the 1.1alpha12 UI to do this. The way I am getting around this, is I keep the old UI, while doing development work on the new version. When I need to add servers, I do everything in the new 1.1beta1 code, up to the point of adding triggers from the templates. Then I load up the 1.1alpha12 UI, perform the addition and switch back to 1.1beta1. Makes me very happy that I kept an archive of the 1.1alpha12 code on my web server.

This has worked ok for you?

I have just given this a try, and I see values being colleceted for the items, but somehow it looks like it's not keeping any history of collected data. I have added all the items for a template in 1.1beta1, added all triggers related to those items, and then went into the alpha12 guy and did "add items from template" and also went to link the items, actions, etc between the template and the host.

When I go to latest data, I see the current information, but the only one for which I have "Change" value, is ping. It's also the only one that is green in the overvue, and the only one giving graphs.

Could this be related from linking from alpha12 in a beta1 environment, or could this be related to something else??

        Thanks!

Interesting. I just went and looked at mine as well. Yes, I am collecting information in the history and trending, but I am not always getting the previous values listed under Monitoring -> Latest data, even when the latest differs from the previous, such as the upgrade last night from 1.1alpha12 to 1.1beta1, which has a periodicity of 86400.

When I look at the graphs, some of them are showing historical data, but others are not. Will look into it a bit closer to see if I can figure out where the break down is. With my luck it is some configuration change that I typo'd.
