    Problems: action => no notification

    hi all,
    I'm looking for help
    I've installed lastest zabbix 1.6.6 on unbutu. everything seems ok, i've access to web interface and server is running.
    i'm try to monitor 2 server domino +1 web server (windows server). I've installed sucessfully agent on them.
    I've got the hosts set up et seems ok.

    1/ I wanted to monitor services, so I went trought the host/item/trigger/action etc.
    I do monitor the service and when i stop the service on the windows server, the trigger work I see the state change to critical... but no mail notification is sent.
    I did configure the media type and I've my action with "Send message to User "HotLine" action.
    If i go to monitor

    why there's nothing in action? i tried to find mail log but without any success. I tested the smtp sever with a telnet and it worked.

    Any ideas?

    ps: i'm a beginner both for zabbix and linux

    http://www.zabbix.com/wiki/howto/config/alerts/actions

    ZABBIX sends notification messages to the users having read access to a host, which generated the event only.

        Ok Kilicos.
        But does the Group 'Zabbix Administrators' you configured, possess Read permission for the Host_Group that host belongs to?

          I don't think so, if i clic the show user rigth, i've got deny on all
          how do you chnge it , I tried to find out but ...

          i thought that if i created a user of type zabbix admin and that it was in the group zabbix administrator it would inherit the rigths and therefore would have full access...

            You need to go to Administration -> Users, Groups
            You'll see Read-Write, Read-Only, Deny tables.
            Add the Host Groups which the hosts you're monitoring belong to the Read-Only Table using the 'Add' button.

            PS: You should obviously create new User Groups for the Actions you need. Not sticking with the default Zabbix Admin "all privileges for all" philosophy.

              You need two things:

              1. The group need minimum read permission

              2. In

              Configuration -> Actions

              you need

              Trigger value = "PROBLEM"

                thanks all , you were rigth, it was simply a problem with the user not having rigth to the host .
                It works now
