Windows Event Viewer not working

Im having difficulty with the Eventviewer (Windows Logging) template, I have imported this template into Zabbix 1.6.6 and going into config > triggers, I can see that many triggers are enabled, however when I go into monitoring > latest data, I see nothing coming from this template.

I have logging to c:\zabbix_agentd.log and can see that the server is not requesting anything to do with eventlogging.

Can someone please help as to get this working, or where else I can go troubleshoot further, is there something else that needs to be install on the client in order to pull the eventviewer information

Hi,

1. the item type must be "Zabbix agent (active)",
2. hostname in agent config file must be the same (case sensitive) as hostname define in Zabbix server.

you were right, it was because i did not have the hostname specified in the agent config

Windows Event Log Monitoring

We have Zabbix 1.8 and I am just learing how to use it and need some advice. I am trying to monitor the Event Viewer Application log and I can't get any triggers to work. For instance I have setup.

ITEMUsing the default Active Windows Template)
Zabbix Agent (Active)
eventlog[Application]

TRIGGER:
eventlog[Application,,1,SceCli,1704]

When this event is logged to the Application log I get nothing from Zabbix. Is my Trigger wrong, I am trying to follow the Syntax given online.
