Hello,
i have a problem with a snmp proxy and Zabbix. The company i work for has several vpn firewalls in different country's in the world and we are monitoring them with Zabbix through a snmp proxy configured with a community.
We also have a trigger configured with the nodata expression.
The problem is, when a vpn firewall goes offline or for a test is powered off, in Zabbix we see at the items of this firewall the error: SNMP error [(genError) A general failure occured]
When i look at latest data the items that were configured are not displaying here anymore. The triggers configured for these items are gone also. When this happens Zabbix isn't registering this firewall as offline. Because Zabbix thinks there are no triggers and everything is well and online.
When we turn on the firewall again, the snmp error does not go away by itself. I have to re-activate the items again manually. The nodata trigger only works when we turn off the firewall and the snmp error is not occurring YET. Sometimes the snmp error appears after 10 mins, sometimes after 1 minute. After that, the items/triggers are gone in latest data like i said before.
This is ofcourse a no-go situation for us and very unreliable. How can we solve this and is it possible to solve this? Thank you very much in advance.
Regards,
Arno
