can't create image in 1.8

Having this same problem with 1.8.3 and 1.8.4, PHP version 5.1 and 5.2 with PostgreSQL 9.0 backend. Problem started when we upgraded from PostgreSQL 8.4 to 9.0. Database is in UTF8 encoding.

The fix above worked for me as well. Running Zabbix 1.8.4 on Postgresql 9.0.1 in CentOS 5.5

Having this same problem with mySQL and zabbix 1.9.5 database.

USE zabbix;
ALTER DATABASE zabbix charset=utf8;
ALTER TABLE images charset=utf8;

The fix workedl.
