    Type of received value issue on eth0 interface

    I just added the 1.8 Zabbix agent to a box and I'm seeing the following error with respect to eth0...

    "Type of received value [1204767546693] is not suitable for value type [Numeric (float)]"

    Any ideas?

      Server = 1.8
      Store Value = Delta (Speed per Second)

        Here's what's in the log regarding this error...

        32632:20091215:021523.943 Item [HOST:net.if.in[eth0,bytes]] error: Type of received value [1205216784648] is not suitable for value type [Numeric (float)]
        32636:20091215:021527.428 Item [HOST:net.if.out[eth0,bytes]] error: Type of received value [22706075090342] is not suitable for value type [Numeric (float)]

        I'm using this same linux profile on other ubuntu boxes without issues which is why I'm really confused.

          i recall a problem being reported where check on value was performed too early, but i'm not sure that's what you are seeing.
          it does look very similar though, so maybe report on the tracker, indicating version, db used etc.

          http://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13588 is probably relevant

            Yes, I'm definitely thinking this is relevant but I would hate to patch this manually. Thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction!

              note that if you decide it indeed is a problem, please report it on the tracker, otherwise you will have to patch it yourself forever
