    Zabbix 1.8 from sources: http://localhost/zabbix - 404 Not Found

    Hi,

    I am running Fedora 12 and I had the web interface showing but not working previously with the RPM versions 1.6.6 and PHP 5.3 Yep, showing up (no 404) but not working - lots of errors. Here is a bugzilla https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=542633

    Now I removed the Zabbix RPMs and made a small note of the procedures I performed:
    Code:
    wget http://heanet.dl.sourceforge.net/project/zabbix/ZABBIX%20Latest%20Stable/1.8/zabbix-1.8.tar.gz

    wget ftp://195.220.108.108/linux/fedora/updates/12/x86_64/postgresql-devel-8.4.2-1.fc12.i686.rpm
    rpm -Uvh ^

    create database and schema:
      shell> psql -U <username>
      psql> create database zabbix;
      psql> \q
      shell> cd <src_dir>/create/schema
      shell> cat postgresql.sql | psql -U <username> zabbix
      shell> cd ../data
      shell> cat data.sql | psql -U <username> zabbix
      shell> cat images_pgsql.sql | psql -U <username> zabbix

    vim /etc/php.ini
      post_max_size = 32M
      memory_limit = 256M

    yum install php-xml iksemel-devel net-snmp-devel

    ./configure --enable-server --with-pgsql --with-net-snmp --with-jabber --with-libcurl # for PostgreSQL  + Jabber + WEB monitoring

    make install

    vim /etc/zabbix/zabbix_server.conf
    Code:
    su - zabbix
    zabbix_server; tail -f /var/log/zabbix/zabbix_server.log

    Now I cannot access the zabbix web front-end or what should you call it?
    Any help is appreciated, thank you!

    hi,

    in the sourcepackage look for a folder frontends/php, and copy this one to any location which you can access as a webpage (/var/www, /srv/wahtever, /usr/local/httpd). check apache2 config for that, or of course create a new webpage and edit apache2 config for that.

    good luck,
    sven

      Thanks

      Thanks svenw, problem solved.

      Actually I solved this myself after googling and debugging yesterday, I also posted here a reply but it seems to have disappeared.

      But, now we can wonder why the Zabbix 1.8 manual is missing the instructions for copying the frontend manually? Or am I just too blind too see? Maybe it is considered too obvious? I am a noobie zabbix user.
