Collector is not started!

Zabbix 1.8 on client and server.

If I ask for:

zabbix_agent -c /etc/zabbix/zabbix_agentd.conf -t vfs.dev.read[sda]
vfs.dev.read[sda] [m|Collector is not started!]


But if I erase the debug level to 4 I can see the value (asked and returned).
Again, the zabbix frontend imports correctly the returned value.

I'm having a similar problem. 3 of my hosts (out of 30) have stopped gathering disk space data. Once the problem starts, no amount of restarting agents, servers, or anything else seems to have any effect at all.

The problem seemed to start with the upgrade to 1.8.0, now at 1.8.1, the problem still persists.

Checking the latest data shows nothing for the past 13 days since our upgrade to 1.8.0. Checking the last 500 values shows a blank page.

Any ideas? We still desperately need a quick way to "reset" these troublesome data collection items.
