Zabbix 1.8.1 Host creation error !!!

Hi,

I've a big probleme:

i've make upgrade to 1.8.1; it work fine;

but when i want to add some host; template won't apply and i've this error:

[COLOR="red"][B]* Undefined variable: db_dephost[/srv/www/htdocs/zabbix/api/classes/class.ctemplate.php:1325]
* Trigger in template [ 10136 ] has dependency with trigger in template [ ][/B][/COLOR]

please report this on the tracker. also add detailed description of template, trigger and trigger dependency conditions

i think it's the same; what can i do ?

(my template for each host type (aix,linux, windows) depend from another contain simple ping)

Do you think a patch is possible before 1.8.2; or i should return in 1.8.0 (if it's possible) ??

Dependency Errors

I've got the same error when trying to link a pre-configured template. I've seen this problem reported earlier in the forum. It appears to have started with 1.8 (as far as I can tell).

Any thoughts on a workaround/fix?

I've seen "ZBX-1853 : Status Resolved [ 5 ]"
do you think it's possible to make a little patch for 1.8.1; for waiting 1.8.2 ?

Unfortunately we built a number of our templates by cloning so we can't add hosts anymore. :-(

you can create a patch from svn diff, or use svn head of the frontend

richlv, I saw you said in svn, that everything seems fine in dev branch rev 9880.
I tried to update host using rev 9987 gui and only difference to stable 1.8.1 is, that I get a pretty error message now.
Still can't link template with dependencies though. Did the linking worked for you, or does it mean, that such linking is deprecated from now on?

what is the exact dependency and what are you trying to link ?
if a templated trigger depends on another templated trigger from a different template, both templates must be linked, otherwise you get the error message

Ok, I see what you mean now and this don't look good.

I have a template Server_With_Agent with icmpping trigger and template Check_port_5555 with tcp,5555 trigger and so on.
And port 5555 trigger depends on Server_With_Agent:icmpping trigger.

I have a lot of templates and most of the triggers in them depend on one templated trigger that is cheking if host is alive. So until today I just linked the Server_With_Agent template and only the templates nessesary for specific server.
This is because I have too many different servers to apply some general templates to them.

as long as you link the template that contains triggers all other depend on, it should work fine (in trunk)

I'm afraid not - at the moment, if I want to use template that contains triggers all others depend on, I have to link all the templates that contain dependent triggers, whitch really doesn't make sense.

Let's say I have templates A, B and C each with only one trigger and triggers of B and C depend on trigger of A.
So if I want to link only template A, it cannot be done, cause gui says:
Trigger in template [ A ] has dependency with trigger in template [ B ]
Trigger in template [ A ] has dependency with trigger in template [ C ]

But trigger in template A doesn't depend on triggers in templates B and C.
