    Template Import Zabbix 1.8.1

    Hello,

    The import of template cisco_asa does´t work.

    Error:

    Code:

        * Incorrect key format 'key_name[param1,param2,...]'
        * Internal zabbix error
        * Missing items for graph "ASA Connections"
    Is there a way to debug the import? How can i find the wrong statement in the template file?

    maybe is the same problem what i post in http://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15792 where the characters [space], [slash] and [dash] in the Key items don't import correctly

    <item type="4" key="CISCO-FIREWALL-MIB::cfwConnectionStatCount.protoIp.currentInUse" value_type="3">

    try to change these the chars [-] for [_] in all key items for discard this problem.

      Thanks for your help.

      There seems to be a problem with colons ":" too. Additionally I changed all "::" to "_".
      Now the import works ok.

        Nice but this worked in zabbix 1.6.8.
        what's happened why this doens't work with 1.8.1?

        i have a few templates with over 600 items, and i can't update those things, because i those are zabbix trappers and come straight from another database.

          When i use the 1.8.0 frontend i can import my templates, but this doens't work with 1.8.1.

          I don't have time at the moment to found out what's wrong, but it looks like there is a bug in 1.8.1

            same thing happened to me... in zabbix 1.8.1 and 1.9 (last trunk)

            definitely looks like there is a bug in 1.8.1 and trunk

                  I've got the same issue, so I updated the bug with details on a temp fix.

                  Change line ~582 in include/defines.inc.php beginning with define('ZBX_PREG_KEY_NAME', to:

                  define('ZBX_PREG_KEY_NAME', '([0-9a-zA-Z_\.\-\:\ ,]+)'); /* !!! Don't forget sync code with C !!! */

                    fix only partial

                    I'm having problems importing my data into 1.8.1 from an earlier zabbix version. Same errors as the opening post of the thread.

                    I tried the fix in the post before this one, however it doesn't seem to be a complete fix. I do stop getting the error, but the import never completes, and no data appears.

                    Some small partial imports work, but 1.8.1 is fairly broken on the import functionality, even with this fix.

                    So I hear 1.8.0 works, is it worth the work to start over with 1.8.1, or should I wait for 1.8.2? I have a strong need for the performance improvements in 1.8x, but I can wait a week or two...

                      I had import problems using the Safari browser that went away when I used Firefox 3.6

                      Have you tried that yet?
