    Maps not working after 1.8 -> 1.8.1 upgrade

    I just upgraded form 1.8 to 1.8.1 and all seems to be well until I looked at one of our maps. All of our maps are stuck in a state where all of the hosted are listed as "unknown". Everything else indicates that the host are all fine. Latest data show data flowing in, the dashboard is all green, and there are no triggers or events listed.

    Anyone have any idea about what could be causing this??

    Thanks,

      Did you both convert the DB character set to UTF-8?

        Convert ?

        This problem (i think) is a bug related to unsuported items... i dont know why but zabbix interface 1.8.1 show the count of unsuported items as "unknown" item and put a gray circle in host...

        Anyway I check my zabbix (mysql) database and the character_set_system is utf8.

          I start from a new install of 1.8 and the DB was created with UTF-8:

          Code:
          mysql> show variables like "character_set_database";
          +------------------------+-------+
          | Variable_name          | Value |
          +------------------------+-------+
          | character_set_database | utf8  |
          +------------------------+-------+
          1 row in set (0.00 sec)
          I don't think this is the problem.

            | character_set_database | latin1 |

              I am having a problems with maps too. On a fresh install, using Oracle 11g R2 as the database (AL32UTF8 character set) I can't get the image to load. When I copy the URL link, this is it:

              [pre]https://coretoolsv01.austin.ncwest.ncsoft.corp/zabbix/imgstore.php?imageid=5f561fe7a677256bbd72b72449bfe 504%3Ctable%20class=%22msgerr%22%20cellpadding=%22 0%22%20cellspacing=%220%22%20id=%22msg_messages%22 %20style=%22width:%20100%;%22%3E%3Ctr%3E%3Ctd%20cl ass=%22msg%22%20colspan=%221%22%3E%3Cul%20class=%2 2messages%22%3E%3Cli%20class=%22error%22%3Eimagesx ()%20expects%20parameter%201%20to%20be%20resource, %20boolean%20given[/var/www/html/zabbix/map.php:266]%3C/li%3E%3Cli%20class=%22error%22%3Eimagesy()%20expec ts%20parameter%201%20to%20be%20resource,%20boolean %20given[/var/www/html/zabbix/map.php:267]%3C/li%3E%3C/ul%3E%3C/td%3E%3C/tr%3E%3C/table%3E[/pre]

              The URL has an error description in it pointing to map.php line 266. Attaching screenshot of inspected body where you can read it more easily.
