Logs - Unable to retrieve value of tag "mtime"

I have an item I created thusly: log["/opt/vestigate/jboss-5.1.0.GA/server/default/log/server.log","ERROR",,100]

Type is set to text
I got one successful check, and since then last time checked hasn't changed, and the last value is: 2010-02-25 13:58:41, ...

The agent log file has this repeated: Unable to retrieve value of tag "mtime"
The log file is readable by the zabbix user.
this is zabbix 1.6.6, with an agent 1.8.1

Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?

Don't know about your specific error, but you are trying to use agent 1.8.1 with Zabbix server code 1.6.6?

Not designed to work that way. You can use older version agents against newer server code level, but not vice versa... especially between major versions.

I was wondering about that. It makes sense. I only did it in anticipation of upgrading the server, and this was a new machine I brought online.

I'll back the agent down and see if that fixes it. Thanks.
