    Notifications not working

    Hi,

I'm unable to get notifications to work in 1.8.1.

I thought I had all the settings correct, like - Host configured with items -> triggers -> actions ... and the MediaType for Email set correctly too.

Also, my user has read-write access to the hostgroups for which triggers+actions are being raised.

Am I missing something? Has anyone else had this problem?

    Thanks,
    Phil

    Phil -

It would be helpful if you could post a screenshot of your action configuration such as in this post (second item):

Also, Are you seeing anything under Administration --> Audit --> Dropdown box: Actions ?

Do you have any actions that are working on this setup?

      Hi tchjts1,

Thanks for your quick reply. I've attached screenshots you suggested.

Also, I would be happy to give you access to my Zabbix GUI, if that would help in resolving this? If you'd like to do this, please email me on [email protected] to get the address.

      Thanks
      Phil

Hi Phil. I see your problem already. You have no conditions defined. You are probably going to need to set them (as a minimum) as shown below... You can set the severity to whatever level you want to be alerted on, but I generally only want to be alerted on "High" items. if there is a trigger I want to get that is classified as "Average", I usually change the trigger severity classification at the template level to "high"

note that empty conditions are actually valid - then the action will match all events.
but NEVER do that with escalations or recovery messages enabled
