new items not polled

Hi everyone,

Since I upgraded my 1.6 zabbix to 1.8.1 with debian backports repo, all new items I create on new hosts are not polled. New items are created the same way as old ones, and I checked in the database itself but couldn't find any difference between old and new items. Anyone got the same problem, or has a clue ?

Maybe things related to cache features ?!?!?!?
What error have you in log files ?

nothing in the log files about these hosts :-(
I tried a tcpdump and saw no requests, these items aren't check at all.

I think I found a trick to solve the issue:

I made more tests, and it looks like if the first check of an item fails (for example because the snmp community is wrong), it is never checked again.
The trick is to create the hosts "disabled", to change the community of the items, and then to "activate" the hosts.

I don't know what happens if an host goes down for a while: will it be checked when it will come up ?
