Import/Export on 1.8.1

I'm attempting to import a template from my 1.6.5 install to a fresh 1.8.1 and it fails with no error. I then just tried to export a default template from 1.8.1 and it exports a 0 byte file.

Is Import/Export broken on 1.8.1?

Correct. Import/Export has issues in 1.8.1 You could try the latest nightly build... or just wait for 1.8.2 to be released. Maybe this week is what I last heard for the release.
