Blank screen on Zabbix first time startup

I have looked for other feedback, but cannot find any, but I have the following problem: I am running RedHat Enterprise Linux 4 with Zabbix 1.8 and MySql. After installing everything, creating the database and placing the PHP files under /var/www/html/zabbix and making sure that all users have at least Read and Execute access to the files, I find that accessing the URL http://<hostname>/zabbix just gives me a blank screen. I have probably missed something pretty obvious, but would appreciate any help.

So, anything in the var/log/httpd/error_log ?

You are right..I did have this problem before, but I had already checked the link you gave earlier and removed all references to 'static' from the file. This however did not solve the problem. I have checked the error_log file and found:

For what values of "Blank Screen" are we talking about? After my most recent install I would have only the menu bar show and the rest would never load due to a back end hang of an unknown cause, yet the symptoms under the hood were consistent. Are you having that kind of a "Blank Screen"?

I have absolutely nothing on the first screen. Not even a menu bar.

PHP Parse error: parse error, unexpected '&', expecting T_VARIABLE or '$' in /var/www/html/zabbix/include/func.inc.php on line 460

"unexpected '&'" looks like a clue. Perhaps you could post a copy of line 460 and maybe ten lines before and after line 460, then someone clever might notice whatever is wrong.

Hi guys, I have installed the Zabbix 6.0 in my ubuntu system with apache2, mysql version 8.0.34 and PHP version 8.2.10 when I hit the localhost/zabbix I got the first page and when hit the "Next" button the next page is completely blank with white screen can anyone help me with fixing this issue
