zabbix beta2 upgrade failed

I have followed the instructions for 1.1 on the website to the letter and then copied /zabbix-1.1beta2/src/zabbix_server to my bin directory. Restarted the service and it stopped polling completely. This was an upgrade not a fresh install.
What have I done wrong?
I am upgrading because I cannot get snmpv2 data with beta1

Right off the bat, I suspect that you either didn't upgrade the database, or you attempted to upgrade the database, but it failed for some reason.

Please go to the zabbix/upgrades/dbupdates/mysql and load the patch.sql file into the database. This will update the schema, which should solve your issue.
