    Disappearing graphs (and screens)

We've had issues with 1.8.0 and 1.8.1 with custom graphs just disappearing as well as the screens of which they were a part. When I say disappear, I mean completely disappear. There is no trace of them being there at all, as though the database entry were deleted or overwritten.

Has anyone else had something like this happen? We've wondered if it was related to the IDS table issues others have been having (we've had those too). We're moving to 1.8.2 tomorrow (after our certification environment has run overnight). Is there any assurance that this will not happen again? We're glad to have graph and screen exporting/importing so we won't spend hours recreating these again if it does happen, but we'd rather not have to worry about it at all.

one possible cause might be having hosts that do not belong to any groups, and including them in custom graphs / screens.

but that would only be possible if those elements were visible in 1.6, but not in 1.8 - if they just disappeared after a while and were visible with 1.8 before, it must be something else.

This was all brand new 1.8 stuff, no migrations.

hmm. more information would be needed then - what user type is used, is network discovery used...
also, up to version 1.8.2 deleting any item that was included in a graph would also delete the graph.

          User type is ZabbixSuperAdmin.
Yes, Discovery is used. We only have additive rules, though. Nothing to remove anything.

This shouldn't happen in 1.8.2 you say? What would happen if an item suddenly became unavailable with 1.8.0 or 1.8.1? Would that theoretically have removed it? This happened with some frequency before we fixed a script to be more responsive (it would time-out and then would become ZBX_NOTSUPPORTED). We're on 1.8.2 now, so we'd like to know if that were a possibility which may be averted with 1.8.2.

no, the problem i was thinking about was hosts not belonging to any groups in 1.6 - they might become invisible in 1.8.
changing to unsupported should not remove anything.
            which database is used ?

try logging SQL queries from zabbix_server (in Oracle or debug zabbix_server).
graphs may disappear only if zabbix_server discovery module delete it... or zabbix user delete from frontend

As stated previously, we have no discovery actions to delete or remove anything, only add.

Also, there is no evidence of any user deleting anything in any of our queries or in their behavior. It really is a phantom behavior.
