    1.8.2 utf8 email subject problems

I previously had zabbix 1.8.1 send text messages by using an action to send an email to my phone number. This worked great, but after moving to 1.8.2, the subject comes through as: ?UTF-8?B?Wk...

The rest of the message seems to come through fine. "Normal" email programs seem to be able to handle the Subject value, so I'm blaming the email to text message software my phone provider uses. Unfortunately I have no control over this, so I was wondering how I can revert back to the old behavior, or get zabbix to handle the subject value differently?

It seems to be related to this fix in 1.8.2:
[ZBX-2011] fixed e-mail sending format to meet 'SMTP/MIME e-mail' standards since UTF-8 is used. Thanks to Olexiy Zagorskiy.

I'm having this same issue. We use AT&T. Anyone found a work around for this?

Same issue here. We're using Bell.

Is there any plan to fix this in the next release?

In the meantime, I think I'll have to rollback to 1.8.2

You can refer to this post: http://zabbix.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16927 for some workaround in the meanwhile.

Same problem with both my Sprint and Verizon phones. Nothing like a 3am Emergency Text message saying USCNDUOSUDN-V930DJ-CDHIRT:Critical Failure.

Have over 500 monitored devices. Brain not functioning correctly at 3am to know if I need to panic, or ignore it till morning.

                in 1.8.3, ascii-only subjects won't be encoded
