    Pre-req checks fail

    Hi Guys

I have been trying to setup Zabbix for the last few days now, but I've gotten stuck on the pre-req checks.

I had a lot of the checks failing, but I have edited the php.ini to correct these, however 2 checks still fail. One is the PHP timezone which I have set to Africa/Johannesburg. From what I can see this is a recognized timezone for PHP. The second check is PHP MB string overload. I have set this to value 2 as recommended, but its still failing. I have been through a few of the suggestions on the forum, but no luck yet.

I'm using Ubuntu 1004 and Zabbix 1.8.3 with MySQL. I know I'm editing the right file, because the other changes I have made have been successful.

    Any ideas?

Tried a clean install of Ubuntu and all the Zabbix components, but still no luck. Tried copying and pasting settings from a working Zabbix install, but still the same errors. Why would it work for one file, but not for another??

Ok, my bad. I checked the file, made the corrections, and promptly forgot to remove the "comment out". Removed it now, pre-req all work. Failing on the last step for permissions to the conf file, but that should be pretty easy to resolve. My apologies for the redundant post, but I figured I should put my resolution in.
