SNMP "Parameter not supported by agent on host"

hi there, using zabbix 1.0 from debian stable.

    1. i am getting "Parameter [icmpInAddrMaskReps] is not supported by agent on host [myhost]" in my /etc/zabbix/suckerd.log.

however, i can get this parameter with snmpwalk using both v1 and v2c.

    deb-sdb1:/etc/mysql# snmpwalk -v 2c -c public myhost 1.3.6.1.2.1.5.13.0
    IP-MIB::icmpInAddrMaskReps.0 = Counter32: 0

    2. initially, i simply added the template values from Host.SNMP. but the default community was incorrect. i used mysql to update+commit the snmp_community and verified that it was correct in the GUI.

however, in the items page, the status says "Not Supported". so i click on "Change" in the Actions column, change the drop down from "Not Supported" to "Monitored" in the Status row; click update; but nothing is happening. it said "item updated" in the box on top, but i can see in mysql that the row in item has not changed.

how can i get it to try again with the new community?

    thanks

oh i should add...i tried changing the host status from "Monitored" to "Not Monitored" by clicking on the "Monitored" link in the Status column of the "Configuration of Hosts" window.

this doesn't appear to have done anything. do i need to leave it in the "Not Monitored" state for a minimum amount of time before it will pick up that I now want it monitored?

    thanks

bah...ok, i just noticed in the suckerd.log that in fact it does appear to try again and gets this additional message:
      "value #1 has unknow type"

how can i debug what unknown type this is?

      thanks

ok, i sniffed one of the failures using ethereal and found that zabbix is requesting the wrong OID.

for example, i'm using OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.4.17.0. which is ipFragOKs. i can snmpwalk that OID just fine.

in the sniffed packet from zabbix, i see the decoded OID request to be:
          1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.6.1.2.1.4.17.0
so it looks like it has added an additional prefix of 1.3.6.1.2.1.

i then checked the mysql database for this item and found the correct OID.

so, is this a known bug with the 1.0 code? is this fixed in the beta? is anyone getting 1.0 to work with snmp?

          thanks
