I have the same result with version 1.8.1

there is something strange, I check "dmesg" and I found this :
    [ 6873.232234] zabbix_server[28944]: segfault at 0 ip b72457bc sp bfb2aba0 error 4 in libc-2.11.1.so[b7215000+153000]

    Iam under this kernel : Linux zabbix 2.6.32-22-generic-pae #36-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jun 3 23:14:23 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux

Right now our monitoring is down and we are blind.

What do you think of this issue ?

Doesn't appear to be an error within Zabbix.

Google this: "segfault at 0 ip" libc-2.11.1.so ubuntu

No wait, I've done it for you: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=%22se...409f7759ed9c90

    Have fun!

I am not so sure about this.

I was working with zabbix for about 1 year (great tool by the way) with a mysql database.
we had recently got some issues with mysql so two days ago I switch to postgres and since I have this problem. I switch few minutes ago to mysql and zabbix 1.8.1 (with the package from ubuntu version 1.8.1) and it is working well.

So, the problem appears with both the package zabbix-server-postgres (version 1.8.1) and a version 1.8.2 compiled by me with those options :
      --enable-server --enable-agent --with-pgsql --with-jabber --with-libcurl --with-net-snmp --with-ldap --with-openipmi

I will wait for the new glibc (version 2.11.2) maybe it will be solved with it.

I already googled it and I found a lots of people having the same problem with this version of the library without any solution.

If the problem exist due to glibc, with which version of glibc I need to compile zabbix to work with postgres ?
