    AIX 5.3 and agent 1.8.2 - vm.memory.size not supported?

    Hello,

I'm using Zabbix pre-compiled agent for AIX 5.3. Everything works well, except the item vm.memory.size[total] (as well as [free], [cached]).

In manual, this item is supported (and works well with 1.6.6), but with 1.8.2 agent I get the answer "Requested [vm.memory.size[free]] ==> Sending back [ZBX_NOTSUPPORTED]"

    Why ?

    Thanks for your help!

PS: Does anyome know why system.uptime is no more supported in 1.8 for AIX?

Those all work for me, including system uptime. We have found though, that the Zabbix agent can be sensitive to the OS Level of the AIX version and need to be compiled to compensate for differences. They show OS levels on the agent download page, but we found even more that require a custom compiled agent.

Also, are you trying to use the old stock AIX template, or the one that goes with the "enhanced" AIX metrics?

I don't know if Zabbix is supplying the "new" template with the distribution yet. I uploaded it to the Zabbix site, but I think settings need to be tweaked for 2 items on that. I should delete it and re-upload it. I'll try and do that in the next day or so.

In the meantime, if you send me your e-mail address in a private message, I will send you the correct template and a PDF that describes the "enhanced" metrics.

      Thanks

      Hi Jeff,
      Thanks for your reply.
I use a clone af the basic AIX template, with some more mount points.
I will try to compile the agent on the host.
      Best Regards,
      Bernard

          zbx agent not rebuilded yet

          Hello,

I don't have rebuild the agent yet. I use version 1.8.1 instead (which works well).

          Regards,
          Bernard
