For the past few months we've been trying out Zabbix and using it to monitor temperatures using zabbix_sender. When I got back from my summer vacation I found all the config relating to this project had disappeared and unfortunately I don't have a backup I can use to recover the missing configuration.
I've tried to rebuild the configuration, but I can't seem to find the instructions I followed this spring when I initially set it up.
When I try to create a custom item of type "Zabbix trapper" I get the following error: "Incorrect key format 'key_name[param1,param2,...]'" no matter which "type of information" I choose, but as I understood it the key should be the key I define in my zabbix_sender script and I seem to be stuck right there at the beginning.
As I don't know the internals of zabbix very well, I was wondering if any of you could help me, either by giving instructions to verify the configuration is indeed gone or by helping me solve the problem I'm having with redefining the custom items.
Oh, and yes, I'm running Zabbix 1.8.1.
