New Zabbix servers and agents with old UI?

    Hi All,

I have just opened a bug (https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBX-2907) because I can no longer set up actions based on triggers from multiple nodes in a DM setup. However, until that is resolved, I still need to be able to create/edit/manage. I was contemplating using the UI for 1.8.2 with a 1.8.3 server. Has anyone done this? Can anyone think of any major problems with doing this?

    Thanks,
    Kenny

There should be no problem. I have a lot of time doing GUI upgrade-downgrade and back (182-183) in the process of preparing a release. All should work.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if the UI's were compatible, or if they used different calls to the database, etc.

      Thanks,
      Kenny

That is one of the principles of the zabbix developers:
No DB schema changes in a version, i.e. all 1.8.x versions share the same DB schema.
That's why there is no problem (except for bugs fixed and introduced )
in using other 1.8.x versions as a GUI or zabbix_server or zabbix_agent.

        Best regards

        Norbert.
