Zabbix_agentd under-reports CPU data on AIX 5.3/6.1

zabbix_agentd consistently reports CPU utilization lower than actual. I've tried both 1.8.1 and 1.8.2 with the same results. Specifically the system.cpu.util[,,avg5] data is always significantly lower than data reported by sar or vmstat or other tools. I am on the verge of replacing this parameter with a User parameter based on sar so that I can get accurate data.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there any more accurate built-in Zabbix metric for CPU utilization on AIX? Any chance this is fixed in 1.8.3?

Bad data can be worse than no data

Either the community does not run very much AIX, or they are not concerned with accuracy of performance metrics.

Looks like I will have no choice but to replace the Zabbix CPU metrics with user parameters based upon sar. At least I will know they are accurate.
