multiple failed logons from localhost after changed password

I have recently changed the default password for the admin account and have just noticed that there are multiple failed logons to the admin account coming from 127.0.0.1 they occur sevral times a minite, but allways in the first few seconds. when I change the password back to the default (zabbix) these change to sucsessful logins. obviously some local process is trying to log into the web interface, but what is it and how do I change the password that it logs in with?

you didn't say that you are using the appliance

it's the preconfigured web monitoring - see configuration -> web.

you can either change the password in it, or disable the default example scenario
