rational for EventID on log events

I don't understand the rational (or use cases) for the EventID fields in the log entries events.

How do you use them in your monitored apps ?
Does there is some insightful usages in the creative minds of Zabbix developers that aren't yet reflected in the documentation ? ;-)

If you meant to windows eventlog, then "eventlog" key is documented quite well

If, however, meaning the Monitoring>Events menu, then it is quite another.
Macro {EVENT.ID} has direct relevance to this.
