Monitor log with current date in filename

Anyone have some idea of how to monitor a logfile that contain todays date?
I cant change the logfile pattern as its hardcoded into the program so i need to figure out a way to do it.
Anyone got a clever idea?

how about: logrt item in zabbix 1.8.3 ?
If not make a cron entry, that links your logfile-with-date-stamp to a logfilename every day at 00:01. Zabbix agent should be able to cope with that!
