    Cannot rename usergroups: already exists

    Hi,

I'm running 1.8.3 and renamed a few user groups without any problem a week or two ago.

Now I can no longer rename groups, e.g. renaming Test to Test2:
    ERROR: Cannot update group
    Group Test2 already exists

The only changes I did recently to the system were a few Ubuntu patches (apache) and a reboot..

    Searching turn up this:

    - Does this mean I have to wait for 1.8.4 for a fix?
    - Has anyone an explanation why it happens, or a workaround?

    Thanks in advance,

    Sean

    yes, 1.8.4 should fix it.
as for a workaround, you could try looking at the comits fixing this and making a backported patch - might work unless it depends on other changes
