    GCC for SUSE 10 sp3

    Hi there,

    I need some help please. I've just brought the book Zabbix monitoring 1.8. before installing Zabbix I need GCC and automake. I am not able to locate a copy to use with SUSE.

    Can anyone help please.

    If you're trying to run Zabbix on OpenSuSE 10.x the best thing to do is upgrade to OpenSuSE 11.x.

        on suse 10, try :
        Code:
        yast -i gcc automake
        edit : hmm, or was that yast2... well, try both yast & yast2

          Thanks for that response. I've spent the whole weekend learning the SUSE (or what I need at this point in time) and with your comment below just started to work out how easy SUSE is to use.

          DOE!

          I was trying to use a complex way of accessing the files I needed by searching the internet manually when all I had to use was use YAST!

            Fedorea core 13 is also pretty easy. :-)

            yum install zabbix-server-mysql zabbix-agent zabbix-web-mysql

            You'll still need to set up the DB, just like in the instructions. I forget where the files are but to find them just do the following after the yum command:

            updatedb
            locate zabbix | grep create
