Zabbix is not notifiying at all

Hallo all

As a long time zabbix user I mainly used and supported old versions of zabbix (1.4.x). Now I install a new one with 1.8.x on CentOS 5.2. I'm really happy about the new easy interface with the new version.

But with the new version I'm facing the problem that zabbix isn't notifying the users at all.

I configured the media types, assignet its to the users and created the required actions. But when I remove the network plug from my test server (not the zabbix server), zabbix reports the system is down and fires the trigger but no messages are sent at all.

After reading all avialable manuals about the actual zabbix version I can't see from where the problem comes. Is there something required while compiling the server to enable this feature?

Have you checked user rights? All users that are to receive notifications about a system need to have read access to that system.

Hey.

Thanks a lot. this is probably the problem.
My new problem is now that I can see the users rights but cannot change it. So I gave the users the type "Zabbix Super Admin"

Having everyone as Super Administrator sounds risky to me, you must really trust them.

You grant access to users by configuring user groups with the desired access rights and adding the users to the required groups.
