    system.uname letter case

Hi all, can someone confirm or deny this:

When Hostname for zabbix_agentd is not set, it is automatically filled out by system.uname, great. In case of active check this means, that the agent sets the hostname, connects to the zabbix server, sends the hostname and gets list of items back.

    THe question:
Is Hostname case sensitive in this case? E.g. if the hostname in Zabbix is lowercase, but is uppercase on the server is this treated as different hostname, or is case ignored?

    Thank you very much!

    Agrh, found it!

    ### Option: Hostname
    # Unique, case sensitive hostname.
    # Required for active checks and must match hostname as configured on the server.
    #
    # Default:
    # Hostname=system.uname

Actually this is really unfortunate. Are there any inetnsions to change this as I do not really understand who would want the hostname to be case sensitive
